| Anyone ever thought about installing an 802.11g or b gateway in their cars? Of course there would have to be a computer to go along with it, but here's the cool part... Say your driving around in a little z cruise with some other 802.11g enabled cars. The members of your cruise could all communicate with one another wirelessly, as long as they stay within a 100-150 feet range of each other. You could communicate via audio or video or both. It would be kind of like the techie version of a CB radio. For a group run, everyone would set the access points key to a given password for security. You could share interior or exterior road shots from a webcam and broadcast them to your group. Price breakdown: D Link gateway - ~$50 Barebone XP machine - ~$300 Couple of cams - ~$75 = $425 I might set up a little test in the upcoming weeks with this. I've got a few access points laying around here. And I know i've got the spare equipement to make it happen...just gotta do it. I'll keep you guys informed. Not sure if there would be any demand for it, but it'll be cool to tinker with it.
